gap analysis: a good exercise adopted by many companies is to have an independent gap audit carried out to highlight the areas that may need addressing prior to a full certification assessment by an accrediated third-party assessing body.

certification assessments: these can only be carried out by accreditated certification bodies such as BSI. i have worked for them and can get you and your company to the position where you are ready for your certification assessment to ISO 14001; BS8901; EMAS.
CSR: many companies produce a Corporate Social Responsibiity (CSR) report to inform interested parties of the company's involvement in the local community, charities and other positive environmental activities. i have been involved in writing CSR reports for the body shop international and am aware of the requirements and how the information can be tailored to interested stakeholders.
